Reading comprehension refers to the ability to understand and interpret written language. It involves a combination of skills, including vocabulary knowledge, decoding, background knowledge, and critical thinking. A reader with strong reading comprehension skills is able to understand the meaning of a text, make inferences and connections, and draw conclusions based on the information presented.

Supplemental interventions that work similarly for all students receiving them.

Intensive interventions that are increasingly tailored to each student's individual needs. Special Education is "Tier 3 on steroids."
